Activists are paralyzing air traffic in Frankfurt

Due to an action by climate activists, the flight traffic at Frankfurt Airport is temporarily halted. A spokesperson for the Federal Police made this known. Several demonstrators had forcefully entered the airport grounds early in the morning and had glued themselves to various spots around the runways.

"We are making every effort to remove the climate activists from the premises," said the spokesperson for the Federal Police. According to the airport's website, several machines were rerouted to other airports in the morning.

The group Last Generation claimed responsibility for the blockade. Six activists had gained access and were at different points around the runways. The group had temporarily blocked the Cologne/Bonn airport the day before.
