Last Generation - Activists are disrupting air traffic at Cologne/Bonn Airport

## Climate activists glue themselves to runway

Climate activists caused a disruption at Cologne/Bonn Airport. Three persons glued themselves early in the morning on a runway, as a spokesperson of the Cologne Police stated. The police are present at the airport. It was initially unclear for how long the air traffic would be disrupted.

Climate-Activists glue themselves to runway

The group Letzte Generation announced that several activists broke through a fence and glued themselves to the asphalt near the start- and landing strips. Via the network X (formerly Twitter), the group shared that the action is part of an international protest campaign, which demands an exit from fossil fuel energy carriers by 2030. The protest is supposed to take place simultaneously at airports in more than ten countries worldwide, it was stated.

The disruption at Cologne/Bonn Airport was due to climate activists gluing themselves to the runway's start-and-landing strips, affecting the scheduled air traffic. Despite the interference, the Cologne Police continued their presence at the airport, monitoring the situation closely.
