Climate activists caused a disruption at Cologne/Bonn Airport. Three persons glued themselves early in the morning on a runway, as a spokesperson of the Cologne Police stated. The Police are in action at the Airport. It was initially unclear for how long the air traffic would be affected.

The group Letzte Generation shared that several activists broke through a fence and stuck themselves on the asphalt near the start- and landing runways. Via the network X (formerly Twitter), the group announced that the action was part of an international protest campaign, which demands an exit from fossil energy carriers by 2030. The protest was supposed to take place simultaneously at airports in more than ten countries worldwide, it was stated.
