The 26-year-old is accused of having stabbed two travelers in the waiting room of Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof with a knife in the early hours of Monday and seriously injured them. He was arrested shortly thereafter, a warrant for his arrest was issued against him on suspicion of attempted murder.
The victims, a 69-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman, were taken to hospitals. The suspect reportedly stayed in the waiting room of the main station with the two later victims and other train passengers during the night. Suddenly, the German man is said to have attacked the man first with the knife. When the woman intervened, he is also said to have seriously injured her.
According to a police spokesperson, there was no dispute between the victims and the suspect before the stabbing. The victims knew each other, but the suspect and the victims did not.
