Accidents - Accident with five injured in Berlin's Westend district
Five occupants of a car were injured in an accident on Heerstraße in Berlin-Westend - three of them severely. According to a police spokesperson, the car collided with a tree for reasons yet unknown. The three severely injured individuals were taken to a hospital. Two other people were lightly injured.
One of the passengers had to be extracted from the car using heavy rescue equipment, according to the fire department. The fire department reportedly dispatched a total of 56 personnel to the scene. They were alerted in the afternoon around 16:40.
The Traffic Information Center reported on platform X about a serious traffic accident. There have been traffic restrictions in place since then. According to this, Heerstraße was closed between Mohrunger Allee.
The fire department also attended to a car that caught fire due to the accident on Heerstraße. This additional incident added to the chaos caused by the initial collision. Due to the accidents and subsequent traffic restrictions, many commuters in Berlin-Westend experienced significant delays that evening.
