North Hesse - Accident with a horse-drawn carriage: Autobahn 7 fully closed at night
An accident involving a truck loaded with mineral oil caused the closure of Autobahn 7 in North Hessia until early morning. The 49-year-old driver was not injured, according to the police. It is believed that he drove his lorry too fast on the wet road towards the south on Wednesday evening, causing the vehicle to leave the road at Niestetal and collide with the safety barrier. Debris flew onto the opposite lane.
In the southbound direction, the autobahn was fully closed until early morning, while in the northbound direction, two out of three lanes were affected until evening. There were traffic jams.
The police estimated the damage to be around 80,000 Euros. No mineral oil leaked during the accident.
