Tuebingen - Abbey prank gets out of hand - fire department moves in
A water pipe burst at a Tübingen Gymnasium. The foyer stood under water on Monday morning, stated school principal Martin Schall. Part of the water had run into the elevator shaft and doors were damaged. The fire department intervened and pumped out the water. The police have taken up investigations for suspected damage to property, as a spokesperson announced.
Meanwhile, the 25 involved parties and the main culprits have confessed internally to their actions. They want to cover the costs and engage positively with the school – even beyond their Abitur, as the school principal said. The damage is estimated to be around 2,000 to 3,000 euros lower than initially assumed. Previously, the Südwestrundfunk (SWR) and the "Schwäbische Tagblatt" reported on this.
The burst water pipe caused issues with the elevator's doors, resulting in damage. The police are investigating this as a potential case of crime leading to damage to property. The faucet, likely one of the water outlets, played a part in the pipe bursting. The fire department and police were both called to the School in Tübingen, Baden-Württemberg.
