The Autobahn 5 near Friedberg towards Frankfurt is fully accessible again after repair works following damage. The disruptions were fixed since early morning, a spokesperson for Police Middle Hesse stated. Repair works were necessary due to road damages caused by a cargo truck fire on a Wednesday.

According to the police, only the vehicle suffered damages worth approximately 150,000 Euro in the fire. The truck that caught fire had been carrying Calcium Hydroxide. This is a strongly diluted cleaning agent, it was stated. The driver remained unharmed.

The repair works on the Autobahn 5 were carried out by a team in Rosbach, as they are located nearby. The traffic in Hesse, particularly between Friedberg and Frankfurt, had been affected by these repairs. Following the completion of the repair work, there have been fewer traffic accidents reported in the area.
