A two-year-old tragically passes away following an accidental fall into a river close to Lüdenscheid.

At a family barbecue outing in North Rhine-Westphalia, a heartbreaking event unfolded. A young kid, barely two-years-old, slipped into the Lenne river. The child was swiftly retrieved by family members and given immediate assistance. Regrettably, despite the initial revival, the toddler inevitably passed away later that night at the Gelsenkirchen-Buer clinic.

The incident occurred around 3:20 PM while the family, reportedly including the mother and three sisters, were enjoying their time at a campsite in Werdohl (Märkischer Kreis). As per "Der Westen", the child remained submerged in the water for roughly five minutes.

Upon being extracted from the water, the child showed signs of life, momentarily reviving. However, as reported by "Ruhr Nachrichten", these revival efforts proved futile after approximately an hour. A rescue helicopter then transported the two-year-old to the hospital, where sadly, his life was lost.

The family members were deeply saddened as they watched the children play nearby, unaware of the danger that had befallen their youngest sibling. Despite the efforts of several family members, who were also children themselves, to help their brother or sister, the tragedy could not be averted.
