Exceptions - A small aircraft must land on Rapsacker
Eislingen (dpa/lsw) - With four people on board, the pilot of a small aircraft made an emergency landing on a rapeseed field near Eislingen in the Goppingen district. The pilot and his passengers, aged 33, 14, and 8, were unharmed, according to the police.
The engine of the aircraft had failed at an altitude of several hundred meters. The pilot glided the Cessna aircraft down and landed it on the rapeseed field between Eislingen and the township of Krummwälden. In the process, the plane cut a furrow in the field, but the machine itself appeared undamaged based on initial assessments.
The incident occurred in the Baden-Württemberg region, specifically in the District Göppingen. The emergency landing was a dramatic event that could have been worse, considering the proximity of the rapeseed field to the towns of Eislingen and Krummwälden. Despite the engine failure and dwindling air traffic, the skilled pilot managed to navigate the small airplane safely, avoiding any major accidents in the crowded airspace.
