A military aircraft carrying Malawi's vice president has vanished.
A plane carrying Malawian Vice President Saulos Chilima and 9 others has vanished, leaving authorities searching for it. The government announced the possible loss on Monday. President Lazarus Chakwera has postponed a trip to the Bahamas to focus on the search efforts.
The aircraft had departed from Lilongwe, the capital, and was scheduled to touch down at the Mzuzu International Airport, around 45 minutes and 370 kilometers away to the north.
Not too long ago, Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi, his foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, and others met a similar fate in a tragic helicopter accident.
