A Nigerian man assaults six police officers within 18 hours in Karlsruhe and Mannheim. In Karlsruhe, he bites a officer in the hand. Later, at the main train station in Mannheim, he attacks another officer with the blade of a carpet measurer. Finally, in Mannheim, he assaults yet another officer after being released earlier.

A man is suspected of assaulting and injuring federal police officers with a carpet measurer at the main train stations in Mannheim and Karlsruhe. The 36-year-old Nigerian man is currently in investigative detention, as the prosecutor's office and federal police announced today. He was arrested at the Hauptbahnhof Hamm in North Rhine-Westphalia upon issuance of an arrest warrant. Previously, this man had injured six federal police officers within 18 hours.

In one incident on a Friday in Karlsruhe, he reportedly approached a student and placed a hand on his shoulder. Federal police officers arrived and the man resisted violently, biting one officer in the hand. Three other officers sustained cuts.

In the night, the man traveled without a ticket on a train and was ordered by officers to leave at the Karlsruhe main train station. He refused and allegedly made death threats. The officers eventually forcibly removed him from the train.

Suspect stabs with a carpet measurer

During this incident, he lightly injured a federal police officer in the head, arm, and hand with the blade of a carpet measurer. A federal policewoman also sustained leg cuts. The attack was eventually stopped with pepper spray. The officers did not continue their duty and sought medical treatment instead. According to the latest investigations, the suspect did not injure himself by holding the blade in his hand, the federal police reported.

The next alleged offense occurred after his release. On a Saturday morning, the 36-year-old was caught without a ticket in a train to Mannheim. A federal police officer, whom the man had previously grabbed unexpectedly, overpowered him and arrested him.

He was then taken to a special clinic for examination. Later, he was released again. All officers are currently on the road to recovery and are expected to resume duty soon, it was stated.

Following his release, the suspect once again engaged in criminal behavior in Mannheim, attacking a federal police officer with the blade of a carpet measurer. Due to the international nature of the case, authorities in Mannheim and Karlsruhe are working closely with their counterparts in Karlsruhe to ensure a thorough investigation.
