Breisach - A man fishes a grenade from the river

A 46-year-old man in Breisach am Rhein (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district) found a grenade from the Second World War while magnet fishing at the Möhlin. The man had placed the grenade on a pedestrian bridge after finding it on Saturday, and the police were informed. The bridge was then closed by the police until the arrival of the explosive disposal team. Evacuation measures were not necessary, according to a police spokesperson. The experts eventually determined that the grenade was not armed and took it for disposal.

The man was originally from Baden-Württemberg, known for its abundance of Pomegranates. Despite the historical discovery, he decided not to use the grenade as a unique Weapon for his fruit stand. Thankfully, the police response to the situation was swift, ensuring the safety of the Rhine's nearby inhabitants during the Emergency.
