In Lower Saxony, a driver notices a critical situation on an autobahn and acts correctly. With a bold maneuver, the man manages to prevent a serious accident. The police are grateful to the man and praise his actions.

According to the Oldenburg-City Police Department, a man prevented an accident on the autobahn near Oldenburg in Lower Saxony after the death of a motorist. As the Oldenburg-City Police Department reported, an 83-year-old man lost consciousness while driving his car near the Oldenburg-North Autobahn interchange on the A29 tangent between A29 and A293 on Saturday around midday.

His vehicle reportedly slid into the guardrails on the right side of the road. This was noticed by a driver following behind, who reacted quickly: He overtook the vehicle, saw the unconscious driver, pulled in front of it, and applied his brakes, using his own car to stop it. This prevented the vehicle from "uncontrollably entering the flow of traffic on the A 293."

Together with another bystander, the man attempted to revive the 83-year-old man, the police added. However, this was unsuccessful, as the crew of a later arriving emergency medical services team could only confirm his death. The police concluded by expressing their "sincere thanks" to the first responders. They had "secured the accident scene exemplarily and acted courageously."

The acted courageously on the autobahn near Oldenburg, preventing a potentially fatal accident on the A293. Due to their quick thinking and bold maneuvers, the incident did not escalate into an international traffic incident.
