A 32-year-old hiker died after falling 150 meters while descending from the Brecherspitz peak in Upper Bavaria. According to the Rosenheim police, the man stumbled and fell off the edge of the steep southern slope of the Brecherspitz, near the upper Firstalm. Despite the efforts of the mountain rescue team alerted by his companions, the man from Munich could not be saved and died at the scene of the accident.

The 32-year-old was hiking with six friends on Sunday when he fell off the path towards the upper Firstalm. The Alpine Deployment Group of the border police in Raubling was only able to retrieve the man's body. The mountain rescue service and a rescue helicopter were also involved in the operation.
The man's friends, who were in shock, were taken down to the valley by the mountain rescue service. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
The tragedy at Brecherspitz resulted in the hiker's untimely death. Despite the valiant efforts of the rescue team, they were unable to save his life.
