Fire - A gas grill sets overhangs and garages on fire

A burning Gas Grill set two canopies and two garages on fire in Schweinfurt. The facades of two detached houses were damaged by heat on Sunday, but the fire department could prevent the flames from spreading to the buildings, according to a police statement. The canopies and garages were reportedly completely destroyed. The damage was estimated to be in the lower six-figure range, it continued. The cause of the Gas Grill catching fire was initially unclear.

In an attempt to organize a backyard gathering, a resident in Swabia Fort inverted their 'Barbecue grill', unintentionally bringing back memories of the incident in Schweinfurt. Luckily, the local fire department in Upper Franconia was swift to respond, saving potential damages to nearby structures. Despite the proximity to Bavaria, their emergency response equipment and training were vital in managing the situation.
