A Frenchman perishes due to dehydration near the Russian Baikonur space center.
In the vast expanse of Kazakhstan's steppe, a Frenchman met his tragic end at the Russian spaceport of Baikonur. Word from diplomatic sources reveals that a French tourist passed away due to dehydration and a pre-existing illness in an environment of extreme heat and dryness.
Investigative teams believe that the man had been with another Frenchman who had sneaked into the classified spaceport territory. The duo had sought refuge there for at least three days, and it's under these circumstances that the unfortunate incident occurred.
The remaining French man was nabbed by authorities after he was questioned by the military court at Baikonur. The court spokesman informed the AFP news agency about this development.
Home to a plethora of space relics from the Soviet era, the renowned Baikonur Cosmodrome attracts individuals with a penchant for crossing barriers into inaccessible and forbidden places.
