Constitution-hostile gestures - A 71-year-old person displays the Hitler salute and is arrested

A 71-year-old man was arrested in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Bavaria, for giving the Hitler salute. The man reportedly participated in a gathering of the Peace Initiative Rothenburg, an organization according to police that is associated with the Querdenker scene.

At the same time, a concert by the "Arkansas Ambassadors of Music", a band from the USA, took place on the Market Square. It is not clear yet whether the man's gesture was related to the concert, if it was directed towards band members or spectators.

The 71-year-old man refused to provide police with his personal details, leading to his arrest. A 64-year-old man from the group allegedly tried to intervene on his friend's side and slightly injured one of the officers in the process.

The 71-year-old man is now reportedly being held accountable by the police for suspected use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations. The 64-year-old man is being investigated for attempted prisoner release, assault on public officers, and bodily harm.

The incident took place in the picturesque town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, known for its rich Bavarian history. The United States of America was also represented in Rothenburg that Sunday, with a concert by the "Arkansas Ambassadors of Music" drawing a crowd. Despite this, extremist actions were still evident, as a 71-year-old man was arrested for performing a Hitler salute.
