Criminality - A 50-year-old man assaults police officers - two officers injured
After an attack on police officers in Euskirchen, the police are investigating a 50-year-old man for attempted murder. According to the police, the man previously refused entry to employees of the Youth Welfare Office at his house and severely insulted them. Some time later, the Youth Welfare Office employees returned with police officers. In front of his house, the 50-year-old man allegedly assaulted the officers with a barstool and hit and kicked them. Two police officers were injured. Eventually, the officers were able to subdue and arrest the man.
The incident of assault on police officers in Euskirchen, located in North Rhine-Westphalia, has increased concerns about rising criminality in the region. Subsequently, investigations into this homicide attempt are being handled by the same police force.
