On the Höllentalferner glacier in Bavaria, a 34-year-old mountaineer tragically died. The police in Rosenheim believe the victim was likely on his own when the incident occurred. Details about the event remain in the dark.

The police explained that the 34-year-old might have fallen from a significant height on Tuesday during a trek at the Höllentalferner's climbing route. He then glided approximately 100 meters across the snow, plummeting towards the valley. The potentially lethal wounds he sustained were likely the cause of his death.

The body was found Wednesday afternoon by three climbers, who subsequently contacted the rescue squad and received treatment from the crisis intervention team of the mountain rescue service. Officials from the Alpine Operations Group of the police and the mountain rescue service warned of the substantial snow still present in higher altitudes even as winter-like conditions appear.
