A 27-year-old individual succumbs to woundings incurred following a fall from a balcony.

Unfortunately, a grim incident unfolded at an event in Hamburg: Recently, a balcony malfunctioned during a celebration, resulting in six individuals falling from a height. Regrettably, one of the victims passed away in a hospital later that week.

The incident happened on a Wednesday evening in the Langenhorn district, as a balcony on a multi-story house crumbled. Six young adults, ranging in age from 18 to 27, were present at the time of the accident. They plummeted from the third floor, approximately 9 meters, causing a variety of injuries. It was later reported that the unfortunate event took place during a welcome event.

According to police reports, the balcony's floor plate ripped away and folded down by 90 degrees. The cause of this incident remains under investigation. It is also being examined if any criminal activity, such as construction defects or a neglected building, might have contributed to the incident. A police spokesperson mentioned the possibility of this a few days following the accident.

The incident took place around 9:30 PM. The balcony was linked to a third-story multi-family house built in the 1960s or 70s. Upon inspection by a structural engineer, the inhabitants of the house were advised to avoid using their balconies for their safety.

The victims were transported to the hospital for immediate medical attention after the balcony collapse. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, one of the individuals sadly succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
