7.76 billion liters of sugary soft drinks produced
Cola, Limo, Saftschorle: Sugary Soft Drinks Enjoy High Popularity - and this has been the case for many years. According to the Statistical Federal Office, 7.76 billion liters of such beverages were produced in the previous year, which is 93 liters per capita. Production increased by 6.0 percent compared to 2022, but remained nearly constant compared to 2013, when there were 7.74 billion liters.
Soft Drinks, Energy Drinks, and flavored Mineral Water are also included in these beverages. However, Cola, Cola-based beverages, and Lemonades accounted for the largest share with 71 percent, as the statisticians in Wiesbaden further reported. In addition, the trend often goes towards "Light" varieties. Production of these increased significantly by 12.7 percent compared to 2013, reaching 1.45 billion liters.
However, mineral, table, and medicinal waters are produced in even greater quantities, as the Federal Statistical Office further reported. In the previous year, there were therefore 12.29 billion liters of these.
Sugary soft drinks, such as Cola and Limo, account for a significant portion of the billion-liter production, contributing to their enduring popularity. Despite the increase in production, the quantity of sugary soft drinks produced in 2022 was nearly the same as in 2013, with approximately 7.7 billion liters.
