Fatal accident - 66-year-old dies after collision with train

In Borken, Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, a 66-year-old woman died after colliding with a moving train. According to the police, she was participating in a garbage collection event near the tracks when she looked at the train and was hit by it. The police spokesperson stated that this occurred approximately 300 to 400 meters away from the Borken railway station.

The woman died at the scene. According to the police, the train passengers remained unharmed. The 34-year-old locomotive driver was attended to by paramedics due to shock. The emergency pastoral care was also in operation. For a total of two and a half hours, the track section was completely closed, and train traffic was diverted.

The tragic incident occurred in the Schwalm-Eder district, specifically in Borken. Authorities are investigating a fatal accident involving a woman and a train. The collision took place during a garbage collection event, causing the woman's unfortunate demise. Police have reported that the accident site was around 300 to 400 meters away from the Borken railway station.
