In Hessen, the number of people who paid more than one million Euro in taxes in a year has increased. In 2020, this applied to 2355 taxpayers, as reported by the Statistical State Office. This was 144 more people or 6.5% more than the previous year. No newer figures are available due to the lengthy tax proceedings.

On average, they paid taxes on income worth 2.5 million Euro. The tax authorities therefore received 2.2 billion Euro in taxes, an increase of approximately 10.9% compared to the previous year. The income came most frequently from non-self-employed work, renting, and business enterprises. Capital income was not considered.

Kronberg, its neighboring town, also has a significant number with 35, while Frankfurt has only 7 per 10,000 residents.
