3rd league - 1860 v Saarbrücken: 3rd division kicks off with traditional clash

With the game TSV 1860 Munchen against 1. FC Saarbrucken, the 3. Football League begins its season 2024/25. The two former Bundesligists face each other on August 2 (19.00 Uhr) at the Stadion an der Grünwalder Straße. Fans can follow the match for free on MagentaSport, as the German Football Association announced.

Of the three second-league relegated teams, only FC Hansa Rostock can start at home on August 3/4. The Ostseestaedter receive the upward team VfB Stuttgart II. VFL Osnabruck must travel to SV Sandhausen, and SV Wehen Wiesbaden plays at SC Verl. The exact schedules for the first two matchdays will be announced next week by the DFB.

The last matchday before the winter break takes place on December 22. The restart of the second round is on January 17, 2025. The season ends on May 17 of the following year. All 380 games will be broadcast live on MagentaSport. 68 matches are to be seen in free TV at ARD and its 3. Programs.
