Freiburg - Young man dies in hospital after swimming accident
A young man died in a hospital after a swimming accident at the Freiburg Dietenbachsee. The 20-year-old had been swimming with a group in the water. He went under, as witnessed by onlookers, said a police spokesperson. Bathing visitors managed to pull the man out of the water after he had been under for several minutes. They administered first aid, and the paramedics brought him to the hospital in a life-threatening condition, where he died that night.
In response to the swimming accident, emergency services were quickly called to the Dietenbachsee in Freiburg, Baden-Württemberg. Subsequent investigations revealed several accidents in the area's waters over the past few weeks, highlighting the need for increased safety measures.
