Criminal Police investigates - Workers discover human bones in the Danube

Divers have found a human bone while searching for flybombs in the Danube. Workers discovered parts of a skull at the Eisenbahnbridge arch in Aiterhofen (District Straubing-Bogen) on a Wednesday. A police spokeswoman reported this. The officers handed over the bones for a forensic examination to the criminal police accordingly. At first, it was unclear how old the bone is and how long it had been in the Danube.

The bone discovery occurred in Lower Bavaria, specifically near the Eisenbahnbridge in Aiterhofen, which is part of the district Straubing-Bogen in the larger region of Bavaria. Due to the potential danger of flies and other insects, the bone was promptly taken for emergency preservation during the forensic examination.
