Transfers - Wolfsburg loans Pejcinovic to Fortuna Dusseldorf from StuERCHANT
VfL Wolfsburg loans Striker Dzenan Pejcinovic to Second League team Fortuna Düsseldorf for a season. There is no purchase option for the 19-year-old, as Fortuna announced on Friday.
According to reports, the German U19-National player is currently undergoing the final part of his rehabilitation training after suffering a midfoot fracture in May. He is expected in Düsseldorf at the end of July.
"We have been intensely pursuing him despite his ongoing rehab, as we are convinced that he will enrich us with his qualities. As soon as the green light from Fitness Coach Klaus Eder comes, we expect him with us in training", explained Fortuna's Sporting Director Klaus Allofs, who was also Sportchef in Wolfsburg from 2012 to 2016.
Pejcinovic has played five Bundesliga games for VfL so far. However, he remained scoreless in those appearances. Nevertheless, Pejcinovic was the top scorer of all U19 Bundesligas in the 2023/24 season.
