Winter weather in Germany with snow and cold
Winter sends its regards: snow will continue to fall in Germany at the weekend. According to the German Weather Service in Offenbach on Friday, it will even snow for longer periods, especially in and around the Alps. The sun will be scarce and only visible in the north. Temperatures will be around freezing in the coolest regions and a maximum of seven degrees in the warmest areas.
The best weather on Saturday will be in the north and north-east, where the sun will shine at times with temperatures between zero and five degrees and it will only rarely be wet. Seven degrees is possible in the Emsland and Lower Rhine regions. Otherwise, there will be lots of showers - falling as rain in the west and as snow or sleet elsewhere.
It will be similar on Sunday. There will be longer sunny spells in the north-eastern half of the country, otherwise clouds will dominate the sky and rain or snow will fall again and again. The snow line will be between 300 and 500 meters. Temperatures between minus one and plus three degrees are expected in the east and south, otherwise it will be between three and six degrees.
The early winter weather will continue in Germany in the new week. Temperatures are forecast to remain between zero and six degrees. It will remain mostly dry in the north and north-east, with occasional sunny spells. Otherwise, rain and snow will continue - the snow line will remain constant at 300 to 500 meters.
The German Weather Service predicts prolonged snowfall in Germany's Alpine regions this weekend, making the weather forecast for winter quite daunting. Despite the cold and snow, the north and north-east will experience some sunny intervals and relatively mild temperatures compared to other areas.
