Colorful - "Week of the lost cuddly toy" in the Netherlands
The Dutch Railways are organizing a "Lost Cuddly Toy Week" so that stuffed animals found on trains during the year can be returned to their owners. Photos of some lost and unclaimed cuddly toys were published on social media with a short text, as the railroads announced in Utrecht on Monday.
"Kibby would love to hop back into her owner's arms," read one pink stuffed bunny. "Quack, quack, who misses Eddie?" was the call from a yellow duck. Giggi the giraffe and a Paddington bear are also still waiting to be collected from the railroad's lost property section.
A total of around 100 cuddly toys have been found in the compartments this year. The five most common items lost on Dutch trains include keys, bags and suitcases, jackets, headphones, earphones and wallets.
Among the more than 62,000 lost items were also a garden set, an expensive coffee machine and a large dog crate, according to the Dutch Railways (Nederlandse Spoorwegen/NS).
