Weather forecast - Weather service warns of heat on Friday

It will be hot in Hesse: The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of heat in wide parts of the country for Friday. Affected are particularly cities and districts in Southern Hesse, but also parts of the Main-Kinzig-District from "strong heat stress".

The DWD meteorologists expect temperatures up to 29-32 degrees Celsius on Friday. They recommend drinking enough, avoiding direct sun and physical exertion, and keeping the home cool.

The Weather Service issues a warning for strong heat stress when the perceived temperature already exceeds a threshold of about 32 degrees Celsius in the early afternoon. If the perceived temperature exceeds a value of 38 degrees Celsius in the early afternoon, a warning for "extreme heat stress" is issued.

Heat Warning DWD Hessen

  1. Residents in Southern Hesse, including areas in the Main-Kinzig-District, should be prepared for "strong heat stress" as per the weather forecast issued by the DWD.
  2. Given the upcoming heat in Hesse, it's crucial to follow the DWD's recommendations, such as staying hydrated, avoiding sunlight, and minimizing physical activity.
  3. The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a heat warning for Hesse, specifically highlighting the potential risks in cities and districts of Southern Hesse due to temperatures expected to reach up to 32 degrees Celsius.
  4. Extreme heat can pose health threats, especially during summer, and the German Weather Service urges everyone, particularly the elderly and young children, to take necessary precautions to protect their health in such weather conditions.
