Weather forecast - Weather service warns of heat for the weekend
Over the weekend, it will be hot in Hessen: The German Weather Service (DWD) warns for today and tomorrow of "strong heat stress" in wide parts of the country. Affected today are particularly cities and districts in Southern Hessen, but also parts of the Main-Kinzig-District. The warning will be extended to the entire Hessen for tomorrow.
DWD meteorologists expect temperatures up to 32 degrees Celsius today and even up to 34 degrees Celsius tomorrow. They warn of heat-related illnesses, particularly affecting older people, chronically ill individuals, and small children. The meteorologists recommend that risk groups drink enough, avoid direct sun exposure and strenuous activities, and keep their homes cool.
The DWD issues a heat warning when the perceived temperature already exceeds a threshold of about 32 degrees Celsius in the early afternoon. If the perceived temperature exceeds a value of 38 degrees Celsius in the early afternoon, a "severe heat warning" is issued.
