Water levels in the Baltic Sea have dropped significantly

As the easterly storm subsided, the water levels on the Baltic Sea coast fell again overnight. According to data from the Waterways and Shipping Administration, the water level in Flensburg was still 1.63 meters above normal at 6 a.m. on Saturday. During the night, the water had risen to more than 2.20 meters above normal and flooded numerous streets. In Eckernförde, the water level was still 1.57 meters above normal at 6.00 am. The peak was around 2.10 meters. In Wismar, the water level remained below 1.60 meters during the night and dropped to less than 1.50 meters by early morning.
