A lightning strike on a railway embankment between Niebułł and Klanxbułł (Nordfriesland) district caused delays in train traffic. A railway spokesperson stated that the end of repair work is still not in sight. Trains must pass through the area at reduced speed.
The thunderstorms are reportedly moving from east to west; in Schleswig-Holstein as a narrow strip that runs from Itzehoe to Neumünster to Kiel. According to a DWD meteorologist, this thunderstorm line will extend westward over Fehmarn and Lübeck from Schleswig-Holstein. Northwest of the strip, it is already clear along the North Sea coast and in North Frisia, and the sun is already shining.
