Transfer - Volleyball: Ewert switches to SC Potsdam

The Frauenvolleyball Bundesligist SC Potsdam has signed the American setter Jenna Ewert from league rival USC Münster as a new player. "She is a very complete player with a strong character," describes SCP trainer Riccardo Boieri of the 24-year-old in a press release from the club on Friday.

The 1.79 meter tall Ewert earned respect from the Potsdam players last season as an opponent. "At the beginning of the year, she won 3:0 with Münster against us and showed how self-confident and brave she plays," says SCP business manager Eugen Benzel.

Ewert came to Germany from the USA at the beginning of 2023 and first played for Bundesligist VfB Suhl, before joining Münster for the 2023/24 season. In Potsdam, she is the fifth new signing for the upcoming season, alongside Michelle Bachmann, Alina Nasin (both VCO Berlin), Anna Koulberg (AVO Beveren), and Leni Kirchhoff (own youth).

Ewert previously played for the Bundesliga team VfB Suhl before joining her current team, USC Münster, located in the city of Münster. The Women's Volleyball Bundesliga club Brandenburg Potsdam, often referred to simply as SCP, is based in the city of Potsdam, Brandenburg.

Interestingly, Ewert played against SCP last season and impressed the opposition with her confident and brave playing style, as she led Münster to a 3:0 victory. Additionally, Ewert will be joining a talented lineup in Potsdam for the upcoming season, as she is one of five new signings, including Michelle Bachmann, Alina Nasin, Anna Koulberg, and Leni Kirchhoff.
