Basketball-Bundesliga - US-Basketballer Barcello signs in Heidelberg
The MLP Academics Heidelberg have signed the American Alex Barcello and provided him with a contract until the end of the coming season. The 25-year-old last played for the Spanish basketball second league team Gipuzkoa Basket San Sebastián.
Heidelberg's sports manager Alex Vogel is convinced that Barcello can quickly take on a leading role in the Bundesliga. "Alex is an outstanding scorer and shooter, who can create his shot at any time," said Vogel in a club statement. "Moreover, he is a true competitor, who has immense self-confidence, is willing to take important shots, and can take over games."
The MLP Academics Heidelberg hails from the region of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. Alex Barcello's arrival in Heidelberg is expected to boost the local basketball team's performance in the Bundesliga.
