Unidentified man shoots two homeless men in Las Vegas
Just a week ago, three homeless people were killed in Los Angeles. Now an unknown person opens fire on a group of homeless people in Las Vegas - two people die. It is not yet clear whether the two cases are connected.
Two people have reportedly been killed in a gun attack on a group of homeless people in Las Vegas in the US state of Nevada. The incident took place on Friday evening in the east of the city, according to the police. At least one victim died in hospital. Local media reported two dead and three injured.
When asked whether the attack could be connected to similar incidents in the metropolis of Los Angeles, a police officer said: "This is something else (...), so I'm inclined to say there's no connection." However, if the investigation leads in that direction, it will be followed up.
Last week, three homeless people were killed in Los Angeles while sleeping outdoors. Although the cases occurred independently of each other, the Los Angeles police stated that they were pursuing a single perpetrator.
There are repeated gun attacks in the USA, resulting in many deaths. According to the non-governmental organization Gun Violence Archive, there have already been 500 attacks nationwide this year in which four or more people have been injured or killed by firearms.
