A 23-year-old man is standing trial in Offenburg, Baden (9:00 am) since Friday, accused of extitit:hostage-taking:hostage: and multiple aggravated rapes. He is allegedly responsible for threatening a 18-year-old female student from Berlin with a firearm in February and taking her to a flat in the Schwarzwald-Kinzigtal area. There, he reportedly held her for several days and repeatedly performed sexual acts on her.

The defendant from Lahr, Baden, is supposedly facing a prison sentence between 5 and 15 years. The German man had previously denied the accusations. According to investigations, they had met during a vacation. They had arranged to meet in the 18-year-old's apartment in Berlin, from which the man is said to have abducted his victim. The trial before the Regional Court is expected to last until the end of October.
