Violence in Ulm - Trial against 15-year-old for manslaughter has started

Because he is accused of killing his 15-year-old girlfriend, a teenager must answer before the Ulm Regional Court. The main hearing against the teenager began, as a court spokeswoman announced on Friday morning. The prosecution accuses him of manslaughter, according to a court statement. Due to the young defendant's age, the trial is taking place in closed session.

According to the statement, the prosecution believes that the 15-year-old allegedly killed his girlfriend in the woods of Ulm's district Wiblingen last year, shortly after Christmas. He then reported the incident to the police himself. The girl could initially be revived, but she died in a hospital several days later due to the consequences of the crime.

According to the statement, the 1st Large Youth Chamber has scheduled 11 trial days for the case. A verdict is expected to be reached in September, according to the announcement.

The accusation of criminality against the teenager in this case involves manslaughter, as stated by the Judge Speaker during the main hearing at the Ulm Regional Court, located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The violent act is alleged to have taken place in Ulm's district Wiblingen, resulting in the death of his 15-year-old girlfriend. Despite the trial being held in closed session due to the defendant's age, the process is expected to conclude with a verdict in September.
