A man is suspected of threatening passengers on a regional train to Berlin-Brandenburg BER Airport in Schönefeld with a knife. The Federal Police arrested him at the station on a Wednesday evening. The platform was cleared before the arrest to protect uninvolved travelers, according to the Federal Police.

The officers began their search upon arrival of the train and apprehended the 30-year-old man on a platform. He reportedly did not resist and voluntarily handed over the knife he was carrying.

The Federal Police initiated investigations due to the suspicion of threatening behavior. The man was known for similar offenses before. He was eventually released.

The alleged criminal act took place on a regional train headed towards Berlin's main airport, Berlin-Brandenburg BER, which is located in Schönefeld. The incident led to heightened security measures at Schönefeld's station, as it's within the jurisdiction of the Federal Police based in Brandenburg's capital city. After the incident, passengers were advised to use alternative modes of transportation, such as buses or taxis, as the regional train service was temporarily disrupted.
