Weather - Traffic restrictions: freezing rain in Bavaria
A severe weather warning is in place for parts of Bavaria. According to the German Weather Service (DWD) early Tuesday morning, there is a risk of black ice due to freezing rain east of Munich and Ingolstadt as far as Passau and south of Regensburg as far as the Munich and Wasserburg/Inn line. The official storm warning is to remain in force until 9 am.
Flight operations at Munich Airport were suspended on Tuesday morning due to the freezing rain. All surfaces are icy, according to a spokesperson. According to a police spokesperson, there were several accidents on highway 99 between the Munich North and Munich South junctions. A closure had been set up in both directions and the number of vehicles involved and injured was initially unclear. However, there should be no major restrictions on the roads in Lower Bavaria and Swabia.
In addition, there is an official warning for Bavaria for frost until the morning: between minus two and minus eight degrees are possible.
