Accidents - Three people killed in traffic accident in Oberberg district
Three people have been killed in a serious traffic accident in the Oberberg district of North Rhine-Westphalia. A car with three occupants left the road near Reichshof and crashed "with great force" into a tree, police said in the evening. Reichshof is located around 50 kilometers east of Cologne.
In addition to the 78-year-old driver, his 71-year-old wife and a 54-year-old woman were also in the car. All three suffered such serious injuries that first responders and a large contingent of emergency services were unable to help them, according to the report. They died at the scene of the accident on country road 148, which is expected to be closed until well into the night.
