For more security at the Niedersachsen Derbies between Eintracht Braunschweig and Hannover 96, the Police Union (GdP) is calling for personalized tickets. This would allow a collective exclusion of fans to be avoided, said GdP Landesvorsitzende Kevin Komolka to the "Braunschweiger Zeitung".

In the coming week, talks are planned between Interior Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) and representatives of the four professional football clubs in Lower Saxony. In addition to Hannover and Braunschweig, VfL Wolfsburg and VfL Osnabrück are also expected to participate. The topic of discussion is stadium security.

"On the Dock"

Behrens recently reiterated her proposal to exclude guest fans from both Football Derbies between Hannover and Braunschweig in the new season. "The first match between Braunschweig and Hannover will be in early October. Before ticketing begins, we will instruct the club not to sell tickets for the guest block at the Derby – unless the clubs come up with short-term suggestions that can make it run smoothly", Behrens recently told dpa.

Fan researcher Gunter Pilz criticized the Interior Minister. The clubs are doing everything possible. "The clubs are being put on the dock", Pilz told the "Braunschweiger Zeitung".

During the Niedersachsen Derby between the two clubs last November, a police officer was severely injured in a brawl in the home stands. There was also extensive use of pyrotechnics in both fan areas during the return match in mid-April in Braunschweig.
