The driver of a transport truck turns off the engine at a rest stop and notices flames. The driver remains unharmed, but the fire causes significant damage to property.

A Truck caught fire on the A2 highway towards Hannover, near Erxleben, during the night. The cause of the fire was a technical defect, according to the police. The driver noticed flames in the engine room when turning off the engine and immediately left the vehicle. No one was injured, the police added. The damage to property was approximately 70,000 Euro. Traffic on the A2 was not affected.

The fire-stricken truck was eventually towed to a nearby rest area in Saxony-Anhalt for inspection. Despite the incident, the transporter company managed to organize an alternative route to deliver their goods to Hannover on time. The local police and fire departments worked together to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and the area was safe. Emergency vehicles caused temporary traffic disruptions on the A2, but the situation was quickly resolved.
