The trailer for Season 2 of 'House of the Dragon' is now available.
Warner Bros. Discovery-owned HBO released the first official trailer for the upcoming season of "House of the Dragon" on Tuesday, March 28. The trailer featured the tagline, "Raise your banners. The official trailer is here."
Prior to this release, two previous teasers had already indicated that the civil war would play a prominent role in the season's plot. Here's what we know from a description released in March: "Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively."
"House of the Dragon," based on George R.R. Martin's "Fire & Blood," delves into the history of House Targaryen and is set 200 years before the events of the famous "Game of Thrones" series, which wrapped up in 2019.
The returning cast members include Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. They will be joined by a slew of new faces, such as Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, and Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, among many others.
And mark your calendars - season 2 of "House of the Dragon" is set to premiere on June 16.
