Electro-Scrap in Flames - The Recyclinghof in Alt-Hohenschoenhausen is burning
In the morning, at a Recycling Yard in Alt-Hohenschoenhausen in Berlin, old electrical material and a storage hall caught fire. No one was injured, according to the Berlin Fire Department. The Fire Department had warned of potential noxious fumes in the city area. However, no harmful substances were detected during measurements, it was reported.
An unknown cause had set approximately 20 cubic meters of shredded waste with electrical recycling material on fire at the industrial site in Marzahner Straße. Additionally, a 400 square meter adjacent storage hall partially caught fire. The Fire Department responded with 7 fire engines and 60 emergency personnel. After approximately two hours, the fire was extinguished.
The fire at the Recycling Yard in Alt-Hohenschoenhausen spread to a nearby warehouse, necessitating the intervention of the Fire Department. Despite the potential for harmful fumes, no harmful substances were indeed detected by the Fire Department's measurements in Berlin. The Fire Department also noted that the fire at the Alternieglosch-Schönhausen recycling plant, which involved electronic waste and a storage hall, had been successfully put out after two hours of efforts.
