After the municipal elections - The President of the District Assembly in Ludwigslust-Parchim was re-elected.
The President of the District Council of Ludwigslust-Parchim, Olaf Steinberg (CDU), has been re-elected for the next five years. At the constituent session of the District Council in Parchim, the CDU politician received 67 votes. He was the only candidate. No one voted against him, there were only two abstentions.
First deputy was the SPD politician Ute Lindenau. Second deputy was, in a secret ballot, the AfD man Tobias Pontow. He received the only votes of 34 candidates. The AfD has 19 seats in the Ludwigslust-Parchim District Council and is the second strongest faction after the CDU with 20 representatives. SPD and Linke have merged into the third largest faction. They have 19 members.
