Lower Rhine - The Parookaville festival has started - 225,000 visitors are expected
Three days in a city built specifically for the Festival - this is possible again starting from this Friday (14.00 hours) at the airport in Weeze for thousands of fans of electronic dance music. The "Parookaville" is opening its doors for the eighth time. The organizer expects 225,000 female visitors and male visitors.
Just like in previous years, the festival is completely sold out. More than 300 DJs and musicians are performing, including artists such as the Dutch Hardwell and the band Scooter with H.P. Baxxter ("Hyper, Hyper"), the Hamburg DJ Felix Jaehn, Robin Schulz and Armin van Buuren. The event at the Lower Rhine is counted among the major electronic festivals in Germany.
Festival wedding
On Tiktok and YouTube, five stages of the festival program are streamed live every day. At this Friday's festival, there will also be a wedding. Esther and Martin from Siegburg give each other the "Yes" word before the official start in their own festival church. The best man is Star-DJ and "Parookaville" artist Marten Hørger.
The "Parookaville" took place for the first time in the summer of 2015. The festival is designed like a city. In addition to the church, there is also a town hall, where visitors receive their Parookaville pass, and a post office, from which thousands of postcards are sent every year. The festival is named after the fictional founder Bill Parooka.
