European Values - The funding project "Europe-Checks" is extended
After a six-month pilot phase, North Rhine-Westphalia intends to continue the "Europe-Checks" funding project. European Minister Nathanael Liminski (CDU) stated that the program had "struck a nerve". According to his department, grants totaling approximately 1.4 million Euro have been given out so far.
With "Europe-Checks", the state sponsors projects in associations, municipalities, or schools. Projects that promote European values are supported. In the pilot phase, this included a European festival in Bedburg, an exchange project of the state youth orchestra, and a cookbook for European dishes.
"We have set ourselves the goal of making exemplary European ideas a reality throughout the country with our new initiative and at the same time focusing attention on the European election," Liminski said: "We have succeeded in both." Applications for the year 2025 can be submitted online until December 1 of this year.
