The footlong cookie is once again available at Subway following a four-month absence.
After vanishing for four months, the mega-sized chocolate chip cookie from Subway made a comeback on Wednesday. The chain announced that the highly-demanded treat, which was removed from numerous establishments just two weeks after its unveiling in January, is ready to satisfy customers once again.
A part of Subway's Sidekick menu, which is aimed at bolstering its revival strategy, the tin cookie has been joined by a Cinnabon churro and a soft pretzel from Auntie Anne's. These three treats were initially launched as a strategy to compete with rivals. The chain successfully sold more than five million cookies since their release.
Subway's recent menu changes include customization options, a stronger focus on its app, an increase in its international presence, and the introduction of freshly sliced meats- a stark contrast to its previous method of providing pre-sliced cuts.
According to Paul Fabre, a senior vice president at Subway, "The Footlong Cookie has historically brought joy to countless Americans, causing an unexpected surge of demand in the past few months."
In order to meet this overwhelming demand, Subway has worked tirelessly to supply their restaurants with more cookies.
This oversized cookie can now be ordered back through the channels where it was pulled from, such as the Subway website, app, Doordash, and Uber Eats. It is also available for in-person orders.
Subway could use a renewed presence, as it has closed down over 400 restaurants last year in the US, resulting in its lowest number of US outlets (20,133) since 2005.

The Footlong Cookie's return to Subway's menu is expected to boost their sales in the food sector, as it was a popular item among customers before its temporary removal. With the addition of Cinnabon churros and Auntie Anne's soft pretzels, Subway aims to attract more business by offering a diverse range of sweet treats.
